That’s not to say I’ve enjoyed every comic staring the Cimerian, but I wasn’t surprised at all that Brian Wood and Becky Cloonan’s first issue of Dark Horse Comics’ newest Conan series took the top spot on my weekly picks. With almost fifty issues of Northlanders under his belt, writer Brian Wood is no stranger to period books involving swordplay and artist Becky Cloonan’s indie-style adds an unusual charm to the book that’s both fun and refreshing. I, for one, can’t wait for the next issue.
